Marriage
Counseling
Your marriage
is worth
the work
When you're struggling, hope isn't naive — it's the starting point. But hope alone won't fix your marriage. Work will.
Something Has to Change
Every couple who reaches out is in a different place. Some are in the early stages—the same argument keeps looping, you feel less connected than you used to, and you're starting to wonder if this is just how it is now. Others are in crisis—an affair, a threatened separation, the kind of breach that makes you question everything.
Whether you're trying to prevent a slow drift from becoming a full disconnect, or you're trying to rebuild after something serious has happened, marriage counseling can help—but only if both of you are willing to do the work. This isn't a place where you come and wait for the other person to be fixed.
What Gets in the Way
Most couples don't have a relationship problem—they have a connection and pattern problem.
The same cycle plays out: one person pursues, the other withdraws. One criticizes, the other defends. Over time, you stop trusting the repair process, and connection quietly erodes.
Common issues couples bring to counseling include:
Communication Breakdown
You talk, but nothing seems to land. Sessions focus on understanding the mismatch in your communication styles.
Recurring Conflict
The same fights, different day. We work to break the cycles and find true resolution for long-standing issues.
Financial Tension
Disagreements about money and values. We work to align your financial goals and create a shared vision for your future.
Parenting Conflicts
Differing expectations and styles. Together, we develop a unified approach to raising your children effectively.
How We Work Together
I draw from research-based approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman-informed methods, Structural Family Therapy, and Solution-focused Therapy.
In our sessions, you'll both be heard and challenged.
We will work to understand the cycle that is pulling you apart, develop practical communication tools you can use between sessions, and begin to rebuild the trust and connection that brought you together in the first place.
Faith & Integration
Teletherapy & Location
My practice is grounded in a Christian worldview, and I am comfortable integrating faith as much or as little as you'd like. Foundational work remains practical and evidence-based.
I offer teletherapy throughout Texas and Idaho, with in-person sessions at my Plano, TX office for those who prefer meeting face to face.
